UK-based artist Mark Roberts, aka Markrobla, creates figurative sculptures that appear to be people stuck head first in public garbage bins. The legs of the figure dangle helplessly as to give the impression of someone actually wedged deep into a trash can. The figures are made of duct tape and covered in real clothing to add to the illusion.
The idea behind his work is to draw attention, perhaps start a conversation, and entertain the people passing by. The sculptures are both eye-catching enough to bewilder spectators and sufficiently believable to refrain from raising suspicion of their material construction.
