Steve Powers has freshly completed a new mural in Copenhagen that pays tribute to the Danish icon, Hans Christian Anderson, whose stories many Americans and Copenhageners grew up with. Located in front of the U.S. Embassy in Copenhagen, this piece was inspired from Andersen’s fairy tale The Red Shoes,a story about vanity and redemption, themes that easily connect the 19thcentury with the 21stcentury. Steve Powers engages the complexity of The Red Shoes in a contemporary context, in a poetic, reflective, and humorous manner. While in Copenhagen, Powers also gave an artist talk that coincided with the European premiere of the documentary “A LOVE LETTER FOR YOU.” Both projects were brought together by The U.S. Embassy Copenhagen
