Oliver Percovich, a 34-year-old from Melbourne, Australia, plans to open the first skateboarding school in Afghanistan.
Oliver's goal is to provide kids with an education along with after school activities that are reserved for "elites" such as English and Computers. When Oliver drives his motorcycle into residential courtyards children come running to him taking skateboards from his bag, and waste no time in getting to their skateboarding sessions. Mr. Percovich has raised enough money for a 8600sq foot building in which classes will be held as soon as Oliver has official permission to begin the project. Despite violence issues in the region such as car bombings and kidnappings, Oliver is determined to make this new school a success for the youth of Afghanistan and generations to come.
