Jeff Koons' Tulip installation was sold to an anonymous buyer at the
Christies auction. That buyer turned out to be hotel mogul Steve Wynn.
The piece, which weighs about 3 tons, was unveiled in the rotunda of
Wynn's Las Vegas theatre. Koons is known for his replication of normal
objects with unexpected materials. The weightlessness of the balloons
contrasts with the heavy stainless steel that was used to create this
piece.
