Nintendo has announced today their new handheld gaming console set to come out right on time for the holiday season.

The new device comes out October 12th and still has two screens, two cameras round the back, a single speaker and a 3.5mm headphone jack, plus a 4GB SD card and will come in black, red, white or blue. It will play 3DS and regular Nintendo DS games, and also have access to 3DS apps. The only thing this won't have it seems are 3D graphics.

One of the best things about this release is that it rocks an appealing $129 price tag.  This is $40 less than the 3DS making it far more affordable come holiday season. A good move from Nintendo making it a little easier for parents to get their kids a cool gift.
