Looks like some Brooklyn news made it into the LA Times recently. A ride at Brooklyn's Luna Park made highlights on the newspaper's  "Most anticipated new U.S. theme park rides for 2014", coming in at 4th place.
Luna Park in Coney Island will be paying tribute to a Classic Coney Island ride by naming it's new coaster Thunderbolt. The steel coaster will stand 125 feet tall, more than 2,000 feet in length and will reach speeds of over 65 mph. The original Thunderbolt was built in 1925 and operated until 1982 but stood unused until 2000 when it was torn down.
