Scottish brewery Brewmeister have created a beer with an alcohol content of 67.5%.
No not 6.75% we had it right....67.5%! Making it the world's strongest beer. Most whiskeys have an alcohol content between 40 and 50%, and this beer is way above that. The Brewmeister brewery is also responsible for the previous world's strongest beer "Armageddon" which had an alcohol content of 65%. Guess they thought that wasn't enough.

As their website explains:

[Snake Venom] Contains special ingredients to achieve such a high volume of alcohol including smoked peat malt and two types of yeast: beer yeast and champagne yeast.

Unlike Armageddon, Snake Venom is not designed to mask the taste of the alcohol. The alcohol is very strong but the beer still tastes like a beer rather than a spirit. It's hoppy, malty and very pleasant.

Snake  Venom is currently available for purchase from UK based The Real Ale Company. A 250ml bottle is going for £50.00 + £13.99 shipping to the US per bottle (Total $103.45 for 1 bottle to get shipped here).

An overview of the beer from The Real Ale Company:

This unique beer is made with a plethora of malts including peat smoked malt, acid malt and chocolate malt. It is fermented using two types of yeast - ale yeast and champagne yeast in order to deliver a higher alcohol content. It is then painstakingly freeze concentrated.

Tasting notes: Dark brown in colour with a nose of alcohol, whiskey and hops.
 Enjoy Responsibly!
