Juan Francisco Casas is a Spanish artist that works and lives in Paris
and Madrid. Working from photographs he has taken, Casas recreates them
as large scale images using only blue ballpoint pens. He is recognized
for being one of the more influential Spanish artists of his generation.
He completed his PHD at University of Granada in 2004. He has also won
one of the top awards in Spain, the National Award of the Ministry of
