LG has just launched their first curved smartphone, the G Flex. The phone has a curved 6-inch, 720p OLED display, a Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM and a 13-megapixel camera.

Samsung also recently released a curved smartphone as well, except with a 5.7-inch horizontally curved screen.

LG claims the phone's curve is optimized for the "average face" and should deliver better voice and sounds quality. Also, because of the special "elastic coating" said to cover the back of the phone, LG says it will "self-heal" itself from minor scratches and nicks.

The LG G Flex goes on sale in Korea but there's no price or release date for the rest of the world.
